They are classed as medium hazard and are intended for outdoor use in large open areas.

That distinction matters.

As fireworks become more powerful, the space required around them becomes increasingly important.

This is one of the reasons why you can’t judge whether a venue is suitable for a fireworks display simply by looking at how big the car park or lawn appears.

The type of fireworks being used needs to suit the site.

For a professional display, we consider the available firing area, spectator location, surrounding buildings and other features before deciding what is appropriate.

The goal isn’t to use the biggest firework possible.
